WE must laugh or else we’ll cry. We’ve been told that the trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see are necessary to balance the budget; war in Afghanistan is necessary for peace at home; nationalizing banks, insurance companies, and auto makers is necessary to save the free market, and so on. We’ve concluded that this administration must be a bunch of Contraries, people who say exactly the opposite of what they mean.

Also, Dancing With the Czars: Obama’s New State-Run Show; the H1N1 pandemic is now official; incoming space rocks are now classified; Van Brunn is a right/left wing (Thor-worshipping) nutball; and the number of mutilated cats in Miami grows to 19.

    I wonder if they’ll attempt to maintain the classification after the rock hits. Given the example of 911. . .
