AFTER THE excitement of torrential rains this morning and Sam’s big adventure in the backyard this afternoon, settling in to talk about nationalized health care is positively relaxing.

Also: it’s President Obama’s birthday — where was he born (hint: it’s Hawaii, and if you even HINT otherwise, you’re clearly a racist xenophobic wingnut who needs to be stopped at all costs)? The U.S. Postal Service looks at closing up to 10% of its post offices; a 7.0 quake in Baja; and pray not for the nation, but for its people.

Here’s the link to the article by Doug Hagmann and Judy MacLeod about the threats against a national talk show host if the host dared speak about Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president.

Interesting podcast. The Obama birth issue is a perfect storm…he is of course beholden to those who backed him, and they have the ultimate, shall we say motivator, to keep him in line. If he deviates, then the truth is known (whatever that is), and if not, then we proceed as usual. No surprises here: sadly this is how it has been done for a long time.

I would also add, on reflection, that either way, the Republic is compromised. If he is indeed not qualified, it would precipitate a constitutional crisis and likely significant chaos. If he is retained and succeeds, the Republic is forever changed. A brilliant strategy for change…whether we like it or not.
