THE MOST compelling news item of the week was the indictment of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky on charges that he sexually abused boys as young as age 10 over a number of years. It appears that the school administration was aware of these allegations more than a dozen years ago — but that Sandusky still had access to school facilities for years, and may still have been — according to this story from Greenville, South Carolina — active in recruiting high school players as late as this spring!
