P.I.D. Radio 5/27/13: Tangled Problems, Entangled Pairs

AS WE honor our fallen soldiers this Memorial Day, we take a look around at the world and wonder: Are we seeing tinder just waiting for a match?  Anti-Muslim riots continue in the U.K. and Sweden; Sen. John McCain secretly met with rebels in Syria while Russian advisers, the Iranian military, and Hezbollah fighters support the Assad regime; and rockets hit northern Israel and southern Lebanon.

Also: New revelation about Benghazi; geneticists try to rebrand human cloning; President Obama admits to killing American citizens with drones; and physicists discover that entangled pairs of photons can be separated by space and time.

For your amusement, here’s the link to the video at PandoDaily in which physicists explain quantum computing to a funky beat.  And here is the link to the Kindle edition of The Time Camera by Charles Ivie.

    Hi Guys!

    Greetings from Sweden.

I havn’t listened to the show yet. Just want to inform you that the riots in Sweden last week were not “anti-muslim”. It was week-long nightly riots by immigrants (mostly muslims). They burned hundreds of cars and threw rocks at rescue workers and police. It was organised by immigrant criminal gangs and leftist radicals.

    Thanks for your great work.

Jonas: Thank you for clarifying things for us. I had read a report indicating that police there — according to one man’s opinion, anyway — seemed to be focusing on controlling the backlash to the riots by Swedes.
