Specifically, evidence suggests that the Hillary Clinton campaign paid a private contractor, Fusion-GPS, to compile the bogus dossier used by the FBI to get a warrant from the FISA court to justify spying on the Trump campaign. Thing is, it appears Fusion-GPS used NSA surveillance data to assemble the dossier the FBI used to get permission to spy on the Trump campaign.

Think about that. The FBI, NSA, and other elements within the American intelligence community were deployed by the Obama administration to try to put Hillary Clinton into the White House.

Threat or viral marketing?

A CREEPY new video featuring a hooded character, dressed like a medieval plague doctor, presents a dark puzzle that apparently threatens U.S. President Barack Obama. As of today, nobody seems to know who created the video and what it really means.

But the big story this week was the suicide of Brittany Maynard, a 29-year-old woman suffering from terminal brain cancer. Her death was facilitated by the assisted suicide law in Oregon and used by activists to promote their goals of legalizing death as a prescription for perceived suffering, and getting the government to assist.

We find this odd, as the Department of Health and Human Services already has an Assistant Secretary for Readiness and Response, Dr. Nicole Lurie, who holds the rank of Rear Admiral.

The mission of the ASPR is “to lead the nation in preventing, responding to and recovering from the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters, ranging from hurricanes to bioterrorism.” Not to pick nits, but doesn’t the current Ebola situation fit her job description?

Worse, it made the government of the United States look juvenile (again). As former State Department counselor Eliot Cohen wrote, America’s leaders “may be charming, bright and attractive; they may have the best of intentions; but they do not look serious. The CIA wants more drones and more places to launch them, the White House will still have a secret capture/kill list, and if you dare question the moral or constitutional justification for killing four-year-old girls over there to limit the possibility that four-year-old girls here get killed, well, you’re “a horrible moron.”

Who takes the fall?

AN INTERESTING thing emerged into public view last week during congressional hearings and the vice presidential debate: The State Department and the White House are playing a game of C.Y.A. regarding the deadly attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya.  The question is whether President Obama or Secretary of State Clinton will take the fall.

Both parties seem willing to let the other do the honors.

Elsewhere: Turks and Syrians edge closer to war; Sen. Arlen Specter dies; Barack Obama’s “no god but Allah” ring; BBC film crew detained at Area 51; and the Brits develop anti-alien weapons.

Note: We received this email from Rabbi Michael Bugg on 10/15/12 which clarifies the point we tried to make about President Obama’s ring:

Assuming you didn’t get the answer later in the show, the Biblical equivalent to the Shahad would be the Shema (Deu. 6:4):

Shema Yisrael, Adonai Eloheynu, Adonai Echad.
Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.

Obviously, I’m substituting “Adonai” (“the Lord”) for the Tetragramaton here. Alternatively, you could translate it,

Hear O Israel, the Eternal One is our God, the Eternal One alone.

The very next verse is, “And you shall love the Lord your God . . .” Yeshua quoted both the Shema and the next verse together when asked what the most important commandment is in Mark 12[:29-31]. From that I would argue that the Shema is not only the most important creed in Judaism, but that it should be to Christians as well–and that if a Christian were to have it on a ring (and I know several that do) that it would not be a problem at all.

The problem with a Christian wearing or stating the Shahad, even if it doesn’t contain the second clause regarding Mohammed (and in this case, I’d want to see the inside of the ring’s band) is that in Islamic theology, Allah is not only a general word for “God,” but is also the personal name of the God of Islam, in opposition to the Tetragramaton, which is the personal name of the God of Judaism and Christianity. Therefore to wear it or say it is to declare that there is no god but the one proclaimed by Mohammed–whose personal attributes as described in the Quran are precisely opposite of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Just my two cents.
