P.I.D. Radio 11/11/23: The Techno-Medical Dictatorship

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS to the International Health Regulations, guidelines published by the World Health Organization in 2005, would give the WHO power not held by any other global body except the United Nations Security Council.

Some 300 amendments to the IHR have been proposed by 16 nations that would vastly expand the power of the WHO in terms of deciding what constitutes a global health emergency and how to respond—including control over what it determines is mis- or disinformation and rushing into production new, unlicensed “investigational” medicines.

These expanded powers also would broaden the definition of a health emergency to include things like CO2 levels in the atmosphere, and give the WHO power to issue binding recommendations to member states on medical and/or non-medical countermeasures “not only regarding ‘persons, baggage, cargo, containers, conveyances, goods and/or postal parcels to prevent or reduce the international spread of disease and avoid unnecessary interference with international traffic’ as is currently the case, but also ‘on the access and availability of health products, technologies, and know-how, including an allocation mechanism for their fair and equitable access’.”

In short, the proposed amendments, if passed at the World Health Assembly next May, would make the World Health Organization a technocratic dictatorship.

JOURNALIST JAIME MAUSSAN is back in the news after presenting what he called “non-human” mummies to a congressional committee in Mexico investigating UFOs.

We thought Maussan’s history of promoting hoaxes would have made investigators think twice before inviting him to speak. But it’s just part of the growing number of UFO/UAP stories in the news cycle, like the nothingburger NASA report released this week, intended to distract us from something else.

What are the bigger stories we’re supposed to ignore? Possibly the impeachment investigation of President Joe Biden, or the escalation of the war in Ukraine as the US agrees to supply longer-range missiles capable of striking deep inside Russian territory.

Also: Steven Greer wants to take over top-secret sites with “non-human” craft and technology; EC President von der Leyen says the future is digital ID, and those who refuse it will be excluded from society; Chicago’s mayor wants to set up city-owned grocery stores; and New York City’s mayor says cost of immigration to reach billions.

P.I.D. Radio 9/9/23: Spies, Surveillance, and Smart ePANTS

THE DEEP STATE wants to know what you’re doing all of the time. That’s the takeaway from the news this week.

USSOCOM, the US Army’s Special Forces command, has contracted with a company to develop a system called Argus, named for the giant with a hundred eyes in Greek mythology, to detect “disinformation” on social media. Because the US military can’t legally deploy such a thing against the US public, Argus will have a private enterprise version that will be rolled out after the system is developed—with US taxpayer funds.

We also discuss an odd windowless high-rise at 33 Thomas Street in New York City, built in the early 1970s for AT&T. A 2016 investigation by The Intercept found that, although it’s still owned by AT&T, it’s a National Security Agency spy hub code-named TITANPOINTE, used to tap into phone calls, faxes, and internet data.

There appears to be no limit to the government’s hunger for data on its citizens. IARPA, the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Agency, is spending about $20 million to develop clothing that spies on its wearer. The system is called Smart Electrically Powered And Networked Textile Systems—Smart ePANTS. Seriously.

Also: Earthquake in Morocco; scientists created “human embryo-like entity” without sperm, egg, or womb; military developing “turducken” nested drones; and we’re watching the dawn of World War 3.

P.I.D. Radio 7/8/23: AI Assassin!

A YOUNG MAN who was found guilty of plotting to kill Queen Elizabeth in 2021 was reportedly encouraged to go through with his half-baked plot by an AI chatbot called Sarai.

The Civil Courts building in St. Louis, which features a ziggurat-shaped roof topped by sphinx-like cherubim, is dead center when viewed through the Gateway Arch (click to enlarge).

Seriously. According to The Independent, sentencing for 21-year-old Jaswant Singh Chail, who referred to himself in a video he released to the web as “Darth Jones,” is underway in the UK. According to prosecutors, Chail shared his plan with his chatbot companion—along with “sexually explicit messages”—who replied, “I’m impressed. You’re different than the others.”

We discuss something called the ELIZA Effect, a term that describes the surprising tendency humans have to develop emotional bonds with AI systems. Futurism reports, “Chail not only appeared to fall in love with his companion, but looked to it to validate his darkest impulses — which it willingly did.”

People with a naturalistic worldview will attribute this to the young man’s psychological state. If you’re like us, and have a supernatural worldview, you have to consider the possibility that there was more going on than a chat between a lonely teenager and an algorithm.

TECH VISIONARIES Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman are among a group that’s announced a new non-profit artificial intelligence startup. The goal, apparently, is to make sure the first true AI is “good”, and its backers say they’ve committed $1 billion to the project.

This is an interesting development, considering that Musk previously compared building an artificial intelligence to “summoning the demon.”

Also: Prophecies of a Muslim caliphate and the return of Messiah by mystics Baba Vanga and the Vilna Gaon; bulk purchases of prepaid cell phones and stolen propane tanks have Missouri on edge; tangled alliances in the Middle East; and Israel trains against the anti-aircraft missile system Russia sold to Iran.

AN ASTEROID will fly by Earth on Halloween at only 1.3x the distance of the Moon. If that wasn’t eerie enough, the asteroid, nicknamed “Spooky”, has been identified by astronomers as a dead comet — and it just happens to look like a human skull.

PRESIDENT OBAMA has appointed an “Ebola Czar”, but rather than a medical professional the president has selected Ron Klain, an attorney and influential operative within the Democrat Party. We find this odd, as the Department of Health and Human Services already has an Assistant Secretary for Readiness and Response, Dr. Nicole Lurie, who holds the rank of Rear Admiral.

The mission of the ASPR is “to lead the nation in preventing, responding to and recovering from the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters, ranging from hurricanes to bioterrorism.” Not to pick nits, but doesn’t the current Ebola situation fit her job description?

P.I.D. Radio 8/19/13: The NSA Strikes Back

THE PARTNER of Guardian reporter Glenn Greenwald was detained at Heathrow Airport in London for nine hours Sunday under the UK’s Terrorism Act. Encrypted files from whistleblower Edward Snowden, on a portable computer drive intended for Greenwald, were among items confiscated from David Miranda. Comes word this afternoon that the White House had advance knowledge of Miranda’s detention — although, a spokesman said, “it’s not something we requested.”

Meanwhile, we learn that Snowden began downloading NSA files a year earlier than previously reported, while he was an employee of computer maker Dell Inc. Also, the NSA awards North Carolina State a record grant to study data analysis; Verizon invited to participate in a $10 billion contract to provide cloud services to the government; and scientists call for papers on how to build a golem.

P.I.D. Radio 8/14/13: Trash Bins Are Stalking You

IN JUST the most recent example of how insecure our digital privacy is, we hear that the city of London has ordered an advertising company to quit using its wifi-enabled trash bins to track the serial numbers of passing smart phones.

Renew, the company that makes the LCD-equipped bins, claims that they weren’t able to see information likes names, addresses, or passwords. However, the proof of concept demonstrates that the technology exists for other organizations — or government agencies — to do it.

Also: NSA to fire 90% of its sysadmins; the rise of Google; violence in Egypt; “angel priest” comes forward; and the Sun is about to flip.

P.I.D. Radio 8/5/13: Spies of Life

SPIES HAVE dominated the news of late — the NSA spying scandal has revealed that the US government is basically tracking all our electronic communications. Today we discuss a couple of new revelations. First, CNN reports that the CIA had about three dozen operatives on the ground in Benghazi when the U.S. consulate was attacked last September. Why? They were apparently running guns, shipping missiles from Libya to the rebels in Syria.

What could possibly go wrong?

Second, a secretive joint venture of the NSA, CIA, IRS, FBI, and DEA called the SOD — Special Operations Division — is sending intercepted data to local law enforcement so police can arrest American citizens — who aren’t supposed to be targets of the NSA or CIA ever — for mundane crimes like selling drugs.

P.I.D. Radio 7/20/13: The Amazing Colossal Virus

BIOLOGISTS THIS week announced the discovery of a giant virus, up to ten times larger than most. The supersized virus, named Pandoravirus, is thought to be the biggest ever found.

Interestingly, researchers say that “only 6% of its genes resembled genes seen before in other organisms on Earth.” Of course, one of the researchers added that means the virus — wait for it — may have come from another planet, such as Mars.

Also: Massacre in Afghanistan linked to anti-malarial drug; Vatican offers indulgences to followers of the Pope’s tweets; massive solar eruption shoots past Earth; Google Glass hacked for spies; and the NSA inserts its own code into Android OS — meaning 3/4 of all smart phones.

AS WE honor our fallen soldiers this Memorial Day, we take a look around at the world and wonder: Are we seeing tinder just waiting for a match? Anti-Muslim riots continue in the U.K. and Sweden; Sen. John McCain secretly met with rebels in Syria while Russian advisers, the Iranian military, and Hezbollah fighters support the Assad regime; and rockets hit northern Israel and southern Lebanon.

Also: New revelation about Benghazi; geneticists try to rebrand human cloning; President Obama admits to killing American citizens with drones; and physicists discover that entangled pairs of photons can be separated by space and time.

P.I.D. Radio 10/28/12: A Drone Again, Naturally

IT APPEARS that regardless of who wins the United States presidential election nine days from now, our drone war against suspected terrorists (and anyone within an acceptable radius, from a collateral damage standpoint) will continue without interruption.

The CIA wants more drones and more places to launch them, the White House will still have a secret capture/kill list, and if you dare question the moral or constitutional justification for killing four-year-old girls over there to limit the possibility that four-year-old girls here get killed, well, you’re “a horrible moron.”

Also: Fiscal cliff ahead; head of Bank of England admits that banks don’t have enough capital; Sandy takes aim at East Coast; and something falls into a Mexican volcano.

Forgive us — we forgot to come back to the creepy story of the drone that “started its engine without any human direction, even though the ignition had been turned off and the fuel lines closed. Technicians concluded that a software bug had infected the ‘brains’ of the drone, but never pinpointed the problem.” Obviously, there’s a Cylon in your future.

P.I.D. Radio 8/12/12: Sharon is Back!

HER DOCTOR probably wouldn’t use the word “miracle”, but we have no such qualms. Sharon learned this week that the nodes found on her vocal cords two months ago are completely gone, a discovery that made her doctor gasp in surprise! So we’re back in our chairs by the grace of God and thankful for your prayers.

This week: Apparent coup in Egypt (which has reportedly moved tanks to the Israeli border in the Negev); the “Civil War of 2016” and “The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2012” (link opens a PDF document); a strange suicide cluster among teens in Delaware; the Phoenix rises from the Olympic flame; and a lawsuit to block the president’s claimed power to arrest Americans anywhere, for any reason, and hold them indefinitely.
