THE DARK and disturbing stories we’ve seen in the news in 2012–for example, more than a dozen incidents in the U.S. alone of crazed, naked assailants trying to eat their victims–may be nothing compared to what lies ahead.

Russ Dizdar of Shatter the Darkness Ministries sat down with Derek at the Prophecy Summit in July to discuss his work as a deliverance minister and what he’s learned from the demonically possessed and oppressed about an event they call the “black awakening“.

Russ will speak at the Nephilim Mounds Conference in Newark, Ohio September 28-30, 2012, and at the Spiritual Warfare in the Last Days Conference October 5-7, 2012 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

HOW ARE we supposed to make sense of the senseless? The shootings at the premiere of the new Batman movie in Aurora, Colorado is shocking, but sadly not unique. How do we as Christians classify such an act in any way other than evil?

We called two men we respect for their views in a special video chat. Live from Nashville, Dr. Future and Tom Bionic of Future Quake join Derek to wrestle with the mass murder in Colorado and the recent rash of brutal “zombie apocalypse” attacks, which now total over a dozen in the last two months.

AT LEAST 11 police officers around the U.S. have been shot since Sunday. Some law enforcement officials believe that officers are being targeted.

TWO YEARS ago, a BBC cameraman caught a bizarre scene on tape: twin 40-year-old sisters from Sweden walking along the shoulder of the M6 motorway who deliberately ran into traffic when approached by police. This began a bizarre series of events that led to one of the sisters hospitalized after being run over by a truck and the other stabbing a man to death, running from police while hitting herself on the head with a hammer and jumping from a 40-foot bridge onto another roadway!

And then last month, 29-year old Australian twins who tried to commit suicide together at a shooting range near Columbine High School in Colorado. Just what is going on here?

Also: DHS wants you to spy at Wal-Mart; 13-year-old girl raped and stabbed in California; and judge sides with Virginia against health care reform.

STUDIES SUGGEST that lucid dreams where we control the action are on the rise. Are we actually dreaming more vividly more often, or are researchers just taking note more often? And if we’re actually aware of our dreams as they unfold more often than in the past, why?

Also: experts admit link between H1N1 vaccine and Guillain-Barre Syndrome; a patent on artificially derived stem cells; genetically modified mosquitoes; and Monsanto buys Blackwater (not!).

P.I.D. Radio 8/2/10: Leftovers

FIRST, AN important announcement about the West Coast Conference on the Paranormal: Sheila Broughton has decided to cancel the conference rather than risk things not coming together the way they should. Stay tuned, though; ideas are flying about a virtual conference to take its place.

The rest of the show was a collection of thoughts and observations, ranging from the gruesome story of a man in south Texas convicted of beheading his common-law wife’s three small children; the possible discovery of the relics of John the Baptist in Bulgaria; and the pronouncement by Alan Greenspan that we’re in a double-dip recession.

P.I.D. Radio 8/29/09: Hearing Voices

NO, HEARING voices definitely isn’t a good sign. After learning about the horrific story of Angelo Mendoza, the man who’s accused of biting out the eyes of his 4-year-old son, we noticed a low-level meme running through the news — literally dozens of stories in recent weeks about crimes from murder to rape to arson to suicide allegedly committed by people who claim to hear voices.

The medical community will no doubt attribute the claims to schizophrenia or attempts to build a criminal defense by claiming insanity. But why do all of these reports involve voices urging people to commit acts of violence on others? Why don’t these voices ever encourage people to love their neighbors, study hard and turn in homework assignments on time, or dress warmly and eat lots of vegetables?

Our belief is that at least some of these people really are hearing voices, and those voices aren’t coming from beings loyal to God.
