P.I.D. Radio 7/13/13: Of (Genetically Engineered) Mice and Men

RESEARCHERS IN England announced this week the creation of genetically-engineered mice with artificial human chromosomes in every cell of their bodies. The government there has pledged tens of millions of pounds to synthetic biology research, including an international project to construct all 16 chromosomes of yeast to produce the first synthetic organism with a complex genome.

The pitch is that the research will yield exciting new gene therapies, and it may. But transgenic mice (or pigs, goats, and cattle) with human genetic material raises some disturbing questions. LAST WEEK had plenty to chew on for people who like a good dose of impending doom: As we prepare for the election of Pope Benedict’s successor, a 20-foot sinkhole swallowed a Florida man while he lay in bed, and a swarm of more than 30 million locusts ate its way across Egypt — interestingly, just three weeks before the start of Passover.

HER DOCTOR probably wouldn’t use the word “miracle”, but we have no such qualms. Sharon learned this week that the nodes found on her vocal cords two months ago are completely gone, a discovery that made her doctor gasp in surprise! So we’re back in our chairs by the grace of God and thankful for your prayers.

This week: Apparent coup in Egypt (which has reportedly moved tanks to the Israeli border in the Negev); the “Civil War of 2016” and “The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2012” (link opens a PDF document); a strange suicide cluster among teens in Delaware; the Phoenix rises from the Olympic flame; and a lawsuit to block the president’s claimed power to arrest Americans anywhere, for any reason, and hold them indefinitely.

ONE OF the takeaways from the just completed Prophecy Summit at Branson was a developing consensus that Israel is headed for war. The question seems to be whether it comes first with Syria or with Iran.

Bill Salus, host of Prophecy Update Radio and author of Isralestine: The Ancient Blueprints of the Future Middle East and the new Revelation Road: Hope Beyond the Horizon, joined us at the Prophecy Summit to discuss the evidence for war and the timing of the conflicts contained in Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38, and Isaiah 17.

This interview from the Prophecy Summit at Branson is one of twelve that will be posted over the next few months. THE AIDE who tweeted a misspelled alert for the president’s remarks on Libya today will no doubt hear about it inside the White House. However, we doubt the media, which would have ridiculed President Bush mercilessly for such a clueless mistake, will even mention it.

Elsewhere: starving eagles “falling out of the sky”; four nuclear sites found in Syria; US and Pakistani military chiefs meet secretly in Oman; and the Army deploys psy-ops against U.S. senators.

IT SEEMS another nation in the Middle East erupts with each passing day. Libya has nearly devolved into a civil war, and the Western media seems focused on the protests as struggles for freedom, and maybe they are. There is one aspect that is overlooked, however, which is that the first protests in Tunisia and Egypt were sparked by sharply rising food prices, which are being driven up by commodity traders — most of whom, we’d bet, don’t have to devote a big percentage of their income on loaves of bread.

Also: Iranian warships in the Med for the first time in 30 years; Saudi/Iranian showdown in Bahrain; CIA agent arrested in Pakistan; and the US paid millions for bogus intelligence software — and now covers it up by claiming “national security”.

PROTESTS IN Egypt continued for a fourth day Friday, this time with the assistance of the Muslim Brotherhood. This is disturbing; a government potentially dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood could undo the 30 years of peace between Egypt and Israel.

And late this afternoon comes a report from The Telegraph that “[t]he American government secretly backed leading figures behind the Egyptian uprising who have been planning “regime change” for the past three years”.

PROTESTS CONTINUE on the streets of Tunisia, Egypt, and now Yemen as hacktivists use social media to organize flash mobs. In Tunisia, it’s now semi-officially called the Jasmine Revolution, which echoes the Rose, Orange, Tulip, Cedar, and Green revolutions of recent years — some of which have been funded by Western interests — like George Soros’ Open Society Institute and the US government.

In Egypt, late word is that the Muslim Brotherhood has joined the protesters opposed to the rule of aging President Hosni Mubarak. This could get interesting and not in a good way.

Also: VX nerve agent goes missing in Utah; DHS nervous about spy drones over US cities; and Todd Bentley commissions “burning ones”.

RATHER THAN repeat ourselves tonight by doing a show and then another show, we’ve decided to just take it on the road and feature the hour we were honored to spend as guests on Raiders News Live with our friends, Tom and Nita Horn — and, of course, the “Wild Man of the Ozarks”, Joe Ardis.

Tom and company pretty much gave us free rein to discuss today’s NASA “astrobiology” discovery, the proposed Edgar Mitchell/Billy Meier forum, alien disclosure, the alleged Gulf of Aden stargate, transhumanism, pandemics, and our panoptic society. It’s a wild hour, and the high point may be Sharon’s speculation about why DARPA’s X-37B space drone has been orbiting Earth for nine months.

P.I.D. Radio 3/29/10: Angry White Men

THE MEDIA is calling the group rounded up in Michigan over the weekend a Christian militia. A few minutes on the website of the Hutaree is enough to show that this group represents Christ no more than Britney Spears represents the Mickey Mouse Club.

Still, that’s the meme we’ve heard for the last couple of years: angry white (Christian) men are a threat to the republic because they can’t deal with people who are different.

Sadly, some of us fall for that bait and really do get angry; others turn away from Christ’s prime directive to preach the gospel and make disciples, and instead try to make politics their ministry. Either way, we’ve been diverted from our true mission which is exactly what the powers and principalities want.

Also: Egypt, Babel, and Eridu; the numbers of the health care bill; terror in Moscow; Israel training for…something; more theopolitical rallies with evangelicals and New Apostles; and the World Wildlife Fund hopes to find billions growing on trees.
