IT’S SURPRISING how often otherwise respectable news outlets publish stories with little verification. Some are difficult to take seriously, such as the alleged werewolf in Brazil, and some are intended mainly to raise questions, such as the so-called “Stonehenge in space”.

In short, the declaration calls Orthodox, Catholic, and evangelical Christians to defend the sanctity of human life, the dignity of marriage, and the rights of conscience and religious liberty. Those are unquestionably values on which Christians can agree — but is it a statement of faith or a dominionist political platform?
