P.I.D. Radio 2/17/24: Putin, Biden, and the Deep State

2024 IS BARELY six weeks old and it’s already proving to be one for the history books.

This week, Alexei Navalny, described as the leader of the political opposition to Vladimir Putin, suddenly died in prison. His death has been widely condemned in the West as another example of Putin’s barbarity, with politicians on the left and right promising to hold the Russian president accountable. But what would Putin gain by turning Navalny into a martyr? It seems awfully coincidental that his death coincided with debate in the U.S. Congress over a $90 billion military aid package, two-thirds of which would go to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the deep state is making it clear that it doesn’t think Joe Biden can beat Donald Trump in a rematch of the 2020 election. Not only is Biden’s cognitive decline obvious to anyone with eyes to see, the corporate media’s coverage is starting to acknowledge it—a sign that they’re laying the groundwork for another candidate to step in. Whether it’s Harris, Newsom, or Michelle Obama, we don’t know, but we’d be surprised if Biden is the Democratic nominee in November.

Just remember, while politics is important, it’s not as important as the Great Commission. Stay focused on the priorities!

Also: Avian flu continues to spread to mammals. We’re keeping a close eye on the World Health Organization and what it will decide to designate the fulfillment of its “Disease X” prophecy.

P.I.D. Radio 1/7/11: Your Phone is Spying on You

WE LOVE technology, but we’d be naive not to recognize how it’s being used against us. For example, Apple filed a patent application in August for a phone that monitors its user’s voice print, heartbeat, and facial features — and compares pictures of its surroundings and recordings of a vehicle’s engine with ones in memory! — to determine whether it’s been stolen.

While this sounds like a great security feature, it doesn’t take much imagination to see how useful this is to a national security apparatus that doesn’t need a warrant to download this data from your phone company.

Also: a million pigs buried alive in South Korea; the son of the Shah of Iran commits suicide; and Ted Williams, the prodigal son with the golden voice, returns home.

WELCOME TO 2011! Time may be shorter than we think: a number of Christians, following the lead of a radio host, are convinced that Judgment Day is scheduled for May 21, 2011.

We respectfully disagree. Time is short, yes, but a lot has to happen before we arrive at the Day of the Lord.

NO MATTER what they call it — “public option”, “consumer option”, socialism, fascism — the end will be the same: more control in fewer hands. It’s been coming for two thousand years, but we know who wins in the end.

Also: 10/25 passes without an economic meltdown, although commercial real estate is starting to collapse; President Obama declares H1N1 emergency; and the hate crimes bill finally passes. Soon, violent crime will be EXTRA illegal — some of the time.

DRAWING ON her experience as a molecular biologist, Sharon highlights some interesting connections in tonight’s show: it appears that DynCorp, a longtime military contractor and suspected CIA cutout, has its fingers in a company that just announced a successful H1N1 vaccine — and saw its stock price jump 21% today.

Also: President Obama’s birthday cake; Bill Maher gets Derek’s blood up; Congress orders three new executive jets for itself; Rupert Murdoch plans to charge for his news sites; and ailing insurance giant AIG — now mostly owned by American taxpayers — sees its stock jump 66% today. (What’s up with that?)

TODAY’S SHOW covered a range of topics, but most of our time was spent discussing genetically modified crops and the difficulty in finding out how GM foods affect our health. Meanwhile, H1N1 vaccines are being fast-tracked, with human trials only intended to determine dosage — not whether the vaccines are actually safe.

Also: military poised to help FEMA deal with swine flu; CIA code expert found dead on hiking trail; New York City gives homeless one-way ticket out of town; and the state of Arizona considers selling its capitol buildings.

Here’s the link to the timeline of aspartame’s approval we mentioned during the show. Dr. Arthur Hayes, Jr., the FDA commissioner who approved aspartame (NutraSweet), later took a job with Burson-Marsteller as a senior medical adviser. Burson-Marsteller was the public relations firm for G.D. Searle, the company that developed aspartame. Coincidence?

WE must laugh or else we’ll cry. We’ve been told that the trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see are necessary to balance the budget; war in Afghanistan is necessary for peace at home; nationalizing banks, insurance companies, and auto makers is necessary to save the free market, and so on. We’ve concluded that this administration must be a bunch of Contraries, people who say exactly the opposite of what they mean.

Also, Dancing With the Czars: Obama’s New State-Run Show; the H1N1 pandemic is now official; incoming space rocks are now classified; Van Brunn is a right/left wing (Thor-worshipping) nutball; and the number of mutilated cats in Miami grows to 19.

This sounds like the premise of an apocalyptic sci-fi movie.

Also: the Montreal Conference lays the foundation for the North American Union (download a PDF copy of the official program here); H1N1 continues to track the 1918 pandemic; and Promise Keepers is set to relaunch.

NANCY PELOSI continues to try to dodge the verbal slings and arrows of those who supported her because she was against torture, only to learn that she was for it — or at least not against it — before she was against it. Or something.

The question we pose tonight to our Christian brothers and sisters is this: when is torture (or Enhanced Interrogation Techniques, or Non-Verbal Questioning) OK? If we truly believe that God is our refuge and our strong tower, how does waterboarding fit into our worldview? Have we thought it through, or are we just dodging that uncomfortable question?

Also: more swine flu deaths, KBR profits from electrocuting US soldiers, and Ida the not-so-missing link.

With the sudden eruption of a new strain H1N1 (swine flu) over the last week, it seemed worth digging into the archives for an interview with one of our earliest guests. Molecular virologist Dr. Henry L. Niman is the founder and president of Recombinomics, Inc., and he tracks emerging diseases around the globe.

In May of 2005, Dr. Niman described for us the chain of events in an unusual story from South Korea, where a strain of flu virus created in a lab 65 years ago had turned up in sick and dying pigs. The World Health Organization responded with press releases denying that there was a problem.

WSN/33, a variant of H1N1, is a danger to humans. We can catch viruses from pigs, and this particular virus is one that we have no immunity against. Yet, at the time of the interview, the World Health Organization had only two scientists assigned to work full time tracking emerging diseases like this.

If Dr. Niman hadn’t stumbled onto the genetic sequence of the WSN/33 virus in a public database while doing research for a scientific paper, we might still be in the dark about that potential threat to human health.
