The pitch is that the research will yield exciting new gene therapies, and it may.  But transgenic mice (or pigs, goats, and cattle) with human genetic material raises some disturbing questions.  (Here is the promised link to the PDF “Finding of No Significant Impact” regarding genetically engineered rice.)
