MOST of us modern city dwellers take our food supply for granted. Hungry? You can run out to the 24-hour supermarket or fast food joint, call out for a pizza, or even stop by your local gas station, which probably does a healthy side business in snacks and six-packs. In fact, it’s hard to imagine an American city full of places with things to eat.<\/p>\n

But it’s not quite as sure a thing as all that. There are very plausible scenarios that could result in a massive disruption of the very vulnerable chain that leads from the farm to your fork.<\/p>\n

Agroterror expert Katie Thompson, author of the thriller Deadstock<\/em>, and commodities trader Alan Kluis talk about the security of our food supply.<\/p>\n
