THE NEWS is enough to drive you into a deep blue funk: the signing of the hate crimes bill; the spread of H1N1; banksters betting on you to lose your house and then die quickly; Russia simulating a nuclear attack on Poland; and a UN nuclear expert doing a mysterious 17-floor death plunge in Vienna.

Meanwhile, our minds have been soaking in a pop culture soup of godless communitarianism since the days of H.G. Wells, who popularized the idea that mankind must unite under a global government or die.

And if that isn’t enough, cattle in Georgia are being mutilated with surgical precision.

Instead of fixating on these things, which Christ told us to expect, take a break and remember the words of Paul:

THE 61st anniversary of the most famous UFO crash in history was celebrated this weekend in Roswell, New Mexico, so of course we had to turn to the man on the scene, Guy Malone. He shared with us a rundown of the official events taking place there, which, interestingly enough, were coordinated by Joe Jordan of the Alien Abduction Crisis Centers of America, a Christian deliverance ministry.

Guy reiterated what we believe about UFO phenomena: Some of them are real; they’re not from outer space; and the passengers are definitely not friendly.

AS ALWAYS, we find lots to talk about even when it seems like there’s not much to talk about. We just passed the summer solstice, and we’re watching the skies (figuratively speaking) for news from Mars, news of Planet X, and news of black holes — possibly here on Earth.

We also note that the movers and shakers of the Western world gathered two weeks ago in suburban Washington, D.C., curiously out of the limelight. Among the invitees to the annual Bilderberg Group meetings in Chantilly, Virginia were two members of the president’s cabinet, two former U.S. Secretaries of State, the chief executives of the central banks of the U.S. and the E.U., the current and two former presidents of the World Bank, the governors of Kansas and South Carolina, the head of Barack Obama’s vice president search team, the CEO of Google, and the queens of Spain and Holland.

Did you hear anything about this meeting in the news? No, we didn’t, either. Even though the CEO of the Washington Post Company and the editorial page editor for the Wall Street Journal were there, too.
