A recent experiment with helium atoms demonstrated that, at the quantum level, time may run backwards, and reality does not even exist until it is observed. Some New Age teachers take this as confirmation of the Law of Attraction, or mind over matter — much to the annoyance of quantum physicists.

WE’RE NOT sure what is more disturbing — the recent stories from Miami, Maryland, and Canada of cannibalistic behavior or the snarky Internet meme that followed, declaring the onset of a Zombie Apocalypse.

As is often the case, drugs are blamed in these horrific crimes. We think they’re more evidence that Paul knew what he was talking about when he wrote to the church at Ephesus: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

The oil continues to flow from the shattered BP well in the Gulf of Mexico. The explosion, which killed 11 men on April 20, 2010 (Hitler’s birthday, coincidentally), has turned into an ecological disaster of near-biblical proportions. Speaking of which, experts warn that the big volcano on Iceland looks like it’s ready to blow.

Meanwhile, political forces inside the U.S. continue to jockey for power, and it’s very tempting for us Christians to respond in kind to the hate-filled attacks. That’s just what the enemy wants.

We note that the money supply in the U.S. contracted at a historic rate in the first quarter of the year. That means two things: more government stimulus, and more economic hard times ahead.

The Bilderberg Group gathers next week for its annual meeting. Economy and Iran are the two big topics, according the longtime Bilderberg observer Jim Tucker of American Free Press.

And the Anglican Church has issued a mildly worded rebuke to the Episcopal Church USA for consecrating another openly homosexual bishop. How far from the Bible can one drift and still be considered a Christian?

AS ALWAYS, we find lots to talk about even when it seems like there’s not much to talk about. We just passed the summer solstice, and we’re watching the skies (figuratively speaking) for news from Mars, news of Planet X, and news of black holes — possibly here on Earth.

We also note that the movers and shakers of the Western world gathered two weeks ago in suburban Washington, D.C., curiously out of the limelight. Among the invitees to the annual Bilderberg Group meetings in Chantilly, Virginia were two members of the president’s cabinet, two former U.S. Secretaries of State, the chief executives of the central banks of the U.S. and the E.U., the current and two former presidents of the World Bank, the governors of Kansas and South Carolina, the head of Barack Obama’s vice president search team, the CEO of Google, and the queens of Spain and Holland.

Did you hear anything about this meeting in the news? No, we didn’t, either. Even though the CEO of the Washington Post Company and the editorial page editor for the Wall Street Journal were there, too.
