FRINGE SCIENCE meets harsh reality: Dr. Amy Bishop, the accused killer of three colleagues in the biology department at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, was working on a neural computer, blending human cells with a computer processor into what appears to be the first step toward a living artificial intelligence.
Chris Knowles has summarized the oddities around the Bishop case at his excellent Secret Sun blog. Chris also notes in this post that DARPA is pushing a new robotics initiative that would essentially give limbs to a potentially Neuristor-powered “Cylon”.

FOR Memorial Day, we thought it was appropriate to bring back an interview from December of 2006 with one of our favorite men and a true American hero. Lt. Col. “Dangerous Dan” Marvin, U.S. Army Special Forces (Ret.) is the author of a remarkable book, Expendable Elite: One Soldier’s Journey Into Covert Warfare, which documents his service as a Green Beret captain in Vietnam.
Expendable Elite is about the good, bad and ugly of secret warfare, the first bombarding of enemy safe-havens inside Cambodia, major battles won by Hoa Hao Irregular Forces led by American and Vietnamese Green Berets, the importance of civic action and psychological warfare, and the involvement of US Special Forces in the plots to assassinate Cambodia’s Prince Sihanouk, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and US Navy LTCDR William B. ALMOST exactly ten years ago to the day, Fr. Alfred Kunz was murdered at his home in southern Wisconsin in a gruesome manner that can only be described as ritualistic. Father Kunz was a friend and associate of Malachi Martin, a Jesuit priest well-known to conspiracy researchers for his outspoken views on the influence of Satanists in the Vatican and the crimes committed by pedophile priests.
Another close friend was Father Charles Fiore, who shared with Kunz and Martin an abhorrence for the ongoing cover-up of satanic abuse by the Roman Catholic Church. Fiore was also connected to powerful Protestants in the U.S. through the Council for National Policy, a secretive group that styles itself a conservative version of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Researchers and authors Paul and Phillip Collins explain why the murder of Father Alfred Kunz may, in fact, have been intended as a message to Fiore and Martin: Back off.
