P.I.D. Radio 3/3/06: Don, Darren, and DU

It was a beautiful Friday here at the bunker, interrupted only by the unexpected appearance of a man from our local gas company. He announced that a leak had been discovered outside and that a work crew would be out within a couple of days.

An hour later, a truck pulled up and two men with detection equipment began searching for the leak. All well and good–except that one of the men was smoking a cigarette.

We’re still here, and the leaky gas pipe–it’s not a big leak, we’re told–will be fixed by early next week.

On to the show: We offer a brief tribute to two of our favorite actors, Darren McGavin and Don Knotts. Both men passed away this week, and the world is poorer for their passing but blessed by the body of the work they leave behind.
