THE U.S. GOVERNMENT is in a legal standoff with the state of Texas over control of the border with Mexico.
After Texas refused to comply with a Supreme Court ruling to allow Border Patrol agents to a park in Eagle Pass, the White House announced a freeze on the sale of liquefied natural gas, which amounts to economic sanctions on Texas—but it also threatens the energy security of our NATO allies in Europe, which have replaced some of the natural gas it imported from Russia with LNG from the US.
Also: Yemen effectively blockades Suez Canal (except to Russian and Chinese shipping); Türkiye drops opposition to Sweden in NATO (and gets new F-16s); US federal debt growing faster than GDP; and the influence of Inanna and Molech.
